WOW! Pace has the 2-Way Remotes for our G8's!
Just stumbled across this http://paceperformance.com/index.asp...&ProdID=250633
Anyone have one installed? Comments? Install procedure? Do I need the dealer to install?
I've been waiting for this item for a year and a half now, lol
Thanks!

2 way remote
Just a note to let you know that I bought my G8 with this option, dealer installed. While this was installed the car was in for service every week. I was constantly getting check engine codes and the TPMS was always sending an alert. The remote would not unlock or start the vehicle unless I was within 10 feet of the car. That is correct TEN feet. After 5 visits and much frustration, I suggested they remove it and put it back to stock. All is good now and I can sit on the can and start my car in the garage!!
I really enjoyed having the remote info. If it were to function as advertised, $120. is a fantastic deal. I paid about $300.
This was back in March of 09. I am not aware if problems have been resolved, so check it out before you buy. If Pace says it is good, then they will take care of you. I trust them as a premier GM dealer and performance parts outlet.

Now that's something I've never tried. Just don't drop your key in there... it's not cheap.

I have no idea what happened to Duke's install - he must have had some horrible tech mess something up - but I've had the 2-way remote since it first came out, which was back when I first got my car in September of 08, and I have NEVER had any problems with it. No complaints at all, and it's a pretty cool little gadget.
I had my dealer install mine.

What's your distance like? I've heard it was supposed to be better than stock.

It's definitely better. I get a range of, at the very least least, 200 feet or so, though it obviously depends on how many other parked cars or other obstacles are in the way. They install a brand new, about 12" long antenna assembly that's supposed to be attached to your passenger-side C-pillar. It's pretty unnoticeable.
Mine had issues staying attached to the C-pillar with the double-sided tape, so they ended up taping it to the rear glass next to the C-pillar instead. When I got my tints, the installer re-attached it a bit farther from the C-pillar (since you couldn't see it with the 20% tints), and I believe the range got even better.

The problem is our key is attached to a giant fob. Add another fob to the mix and I'd feel lopsided from the extra pocket bulge. Too much damn key.

My thoughts exactly, it's just to many remotes going on, i looked into this way back when, didn't like the idea of two bulges.
