Default Is there a trick getting the axles back into the diff?

Apparently my cousin is having a bitch of a time doing this and asked me to ask here.

He says the axles look like they don't fit the diff and look too big for it. They go into my old diff that is shot but not into the new diff I bought on here.

stock parts? I know the TrueTrac diff is a bitch to get the axles in. You have to grind a bevel on the snap rings.

Where do you grind it? And yeah, Truetrac and stock axles/diff. It won't fit in at all without grinding it?

When I did mine they slid right in ion the camaro diff... I think George(or maybe Tom) said something about the true trac being tight

You have to grind a bevel into the side of the snap ring that goes into the diff. Just grind a bit, try it, grind a bit more, try it, etc.

Just told him to try grinding them down a bit. Will hear more tomorrow since he's leaving it on the lift until then. Any other ideas I could give him for this?

Thanks WW. Anything else I could try?

What an annoyance this fucking car has been. Seriously. I'm ready to light it on fire. Not a single fucking thing has went right on the car so far.

First, GM does jack all on the lifters even though they acknowledge a problem. Next, I break my rear. Then the Truetrac wasn't in stock and delayed me quite a bit from getting this done (thankfully it eventually came). Then I couldn't get a tow to PA. Then the company sending the bearings to the guy doing the Truetrac install two-days them instead of overnighting them like what was paid for. Now the fucking axles aren't going into the car right.

This fucking thing is cursed. I'm ready to burn it to the fucking ground. This undue stress is going to kill me. I already am having massive migraines over worrying about this piece of shit.

I can only imagine what's going to happen when we take care of the lifters and cam. I'm sure the car will fly off the dyno or blow up in the shop. I wouldn't be surprised at all at this point.

You know, I don't have these problems with my Ford...

J/K, I'm in the middle of doing headers and it's a pain in the cock. I stopped because I was waiting for the converter. Now that's here and I don't feel like dicking with it tonight.

Here's a few pics of what the snap ring needs to look like to get it into the TT. Even with the bevel, it's a bitch. Getting it back out will require 2 pry bars and a lot of effort.
