Default Considering a Maggie - Question

    Hello Everyone!

I searched around (somewhat) but couldn't find an answer, hopefully I can get some good advice here......

    Backstory:
Last year I had Livernois install Mids and a tune. I also had them put on the CAI while it was there.

I'm now toying with the idea of installing a 2300. The catch is, I'd really like to do it myself. It's not because I'm cheap - ok a little cheap. But I really just want the satisfaction of doing it myself. I'm mechanically inclined and have all the tools to do the job. (Except an angle drill but I'll get around that somehow.) So I think it's a doable project for me.

Is it possible to drive the vehicle a short distance with the supercharger on it prior to having it tuned for the new-found air? I'd like to take it back to Livernois to take advantage of their "within reason" re-tune or at least at a discount. I may also have them put on a clutch while they have it. However, I don't know if it's safe to drive that way or not. I have A/F and FP gauges so I'd think as long as I go easy, I could stay safe.

My other option would be to trailer it to them I suppose. They're about 10 miles from my home (30 minutes drive time though).

If you change the injectors, which are included (preinstalled) with the 2300, then the answer is no. You won't be able to drive it.

PS. I have a Smokin deal on 2300s right now.

The 10 mile tow would be worth the money saved on the install... It's not overly difficult at all.

You could have them put it back to stock before you do the install and flash the maggie superchips tune to drive it to back to their shop.

Since you are saving the money on the install use some of that to tow your car up to Dearborn Heights.

Good suggestion on the tow. In fact, I may enlist Livernois' pickup service as I'd trust them more than your normal flatbed tow-truck.

I think it'll be a Maggie for me if anything. I'm not looking to make 550+ RWHP or anything (famous last words, right?). I just want to have have fun turning the wrench and getting some ponies at the same time.

    Thank you for the suggestion.
