Default Full boltons 08 Mustang GT

Raced an 08 mustang gt on the way home from the meet up. Talked to him at the meet, his car has headers, xpipe, cai, tune, 4:10s(maybe another bolt on or two i forget) and its an auto. He keeps telling me he wants to run from a 35 roll(I thought). So we head out and I'm in 2nd gear thinking we're going from 35 when he slows down to 20 honks and hits it... I hit it but am still in 2nd at 2k rpms lol so he pulls from me pretty hard... at least 2-3 cars to 90ish. We slow down and I tell one more time I was in the wrong gear. So this time I'm in 1st, honks we both hit it at about 20... he pulls about a 1/2 car on me(he got a slight jump I think) then I hit 2nd and he takes it to a full car, as I look down and see the traction control assistance button light up(forgot to turn tc off for both races I realize at that point ARGH!). After that I start slowly reeling him in at around the 1/4 mile(108ish) im starting to nose ahead and we shut it down at 117 with me about half a car ahead. Pull next to him tell him good race and he said his car shifts into OD at 110 so it wont pull hard after that. I wish we could have gone from a dig(and I'd have turned TC off) I think I could have pulled him more but it was a little wet and he said he had really bald tires and just spins.

You think? Because of the 4:10s? I figure he would have spun a lot more than me.

five oh:

When we get our next "track trip" together I can just about guarantee this kid will be there.

You can run him from a dig then. Hopefully he's changed tires. I would expect that have my intake and tune done by then and I want to run him too.

fiveoh:

Was that a 40 roll?

If , so did use manual? It seems like that would be a better way to do it; you could make sure you were right in the power band but then you have that delay between shifts?

Let me know.

Thanks.
